Creative has increased its sub-contract capacity with the addition of new machining facilities.

Following on from last year’s upgrade to its existing beam welding station, Creative has developed a new CNC machining facility. Equipment includes a small batch milling machine and a Dugard Eagle 100 computerised lathe. This new facility confirms Creative’s commitment to providing a complete ‘Design to Production’ sub-contract service.

The computerised lathe has a turning capacity of 280 mm diameter and a cutting length of 290mm, with a capacity for a 45mm diameter bar. Supplied with a 10-turret tool station the lathe can run up to speeds of 6000 rpm. The machine also has a parts catcher, swarf conveyor and bin and Fanuc OTD control.

Creative provides a wide range of services including electron beam welding, TIG & MIG welding, plasma and resistance welding, vacuum brazing, induction soldering and welding and vacuum heat treatment. In addition Creative can supply a testing and design service that includes mass spectrometer leak detection, pressure sensitive element design, vacuum system design, sectioning and inspection.
